Bronagh Lennon thanks her fellow Gaels for thier support

A chairde,

As you are aware, due to the five year rule, my term as Cultural Officer in the County ends on the 7th December. I have thoroughly enjoyed every single second and it has been a pleasure and an honour to work with such wonderful people in the clubs of this County. Cultúr, Gaeilge and Scór always have been a big part of my routine and my children’s and I’ll continue to attend Scór and promote culture and language in my own family and community to the best of my ability.

When I started in the role I wanted to support clubs with anything relating to the Irish language and to increase Scór participation. Scór participation was very low in 2015 and has almost tripled since then, thanks to all of you for helping to promote it. It has been wonderful to see culture grow and blossom in the County. The clubs have given me great support and have always tried to help in anyway possible; I greatly appreciate that. I hope you feel that you have been supported in the area of culture and Scór during my term in office. There has been much success.

In spring of 2016 Antrim hosted the All Ireland Scór Finals in The Waterfront; a great honour for the County. The highlight was definitely seeing 7 Ulster and 3 All Ireland titles come home to Antrim over the 5 years; something which I only could ever have dreamed of this time 5 years ago. I have loved promoting all things culture in this great County and have made some great friends along the way. Although it is time for someone else to take the reins, I hope to be back in the near future in the same role, doing what I love. I can’t thank you all enough for your support ,friendship and kindness . Special thanks must go to the members of Coiste Bainistí who have supported me in every venture.

Ádh mór oraibh a chairde,

Buíochas ó chroí

Bronagh Lennon
