Down Memory Lane
With none of the usual club dinners on this season we continue our look back at some of the club celebrations from some years back. Ten years ago Loughgiel had finally made the breakthrough in the effort to win back the Volunteer Cup. After losing in six finals in a row from 2003 to 2008, and being beaten in the semi-final in 2009 they put it all behind them in 2010 with a win over Cushendall in the final.
A month later they celebrated in style at the club Gala in the Tullyglass Hotel. Three of Tipperary’s All Ireland winning team, Conor O’Mahoney, Shane McGrath and Seammy Callinan, were there as guests of honour and a fine night was had by one and all
