St. Teresa’s so near in 2009

December 7th, 2009

It was a good year for Antrim clubs in 2009 with St. Gall’s lifting the Ulster title but they might well have been joined on the winner’s rostrum by fellow Belfast side St. Teresa’s who came mighty close to claiming the Ulster JFC title but lost after a replay to a strong Emmyvale side from Monaghan. There was some consolation for the Glen Road side however when Philip Maguire was awarded the man of the match trophy. Maguire covered every inch of Pairc Esler in an effort to get his side over the line but it was not to be and it was the men from the Farney County who prevailed.
