Antrim Camogie’s new team take first steps

Team manager Gavan Curran

Antrim Camogie’s new second team will play in the Littlewoods Ireland Division 4 next month and later on in the Junior All Ireland and Ulster Intermediate championships. They had their first get together on Wednesday evening in Carey.

This is a new squad with players from Belfast to Ballycastle. The girls are highly excited and looking forward to an opportunity to show they are capable of stepping up to senior county.

The show of talent on the first night will give Manager Gavin Curran some selection problems ahead of their opening game against Tyrone on the weekend 15th/16th May. Tyrone, reached the All Ireland semi final last season.

Baby steps were taken in Carey, but there was plenty of enthusiasm on show and over the next few weeks manager and players are determined to prepare well and meet the challenges of Division 4
