When Angela Cunning’s prizewinning photograph of her son Conal and her mum Angela appeared in the AIB Sportsfile’s Toughest Season pulblication last Christmas there was delight within the Cuchullains club at Angela’s success. However the club had double reason for celebration as the prize also carried a £500 O’Neill Sports voucher which went straight to the club. On Sunday the club took the opportunity to congratulate Angela for what she had achieved and thank her for the voucher which bought sliothars and fooballs for the teams in the club. Our pictue above shows the award winning snapper with club chairman James McKeague (right) and commitee member Dominic Dillon.

This is the caption which appeared with the photo in the Toughest Season book
A striking sunset captured by Angela Cunning from Dunloy GAC in County Antrim. A clear outline shows son, Conal, pucking a sliotar with his eighty three year old grandmother, Eilish. There is a strong hurling pedigree in the Cunning household, with Conal representing his county hurlers in their Joe McDonagh Cup winning season in 2020, while Eilish is an All Ireland Senior Camogie medal holder.
Angela didn’t have to go too far to get the perfect picture, with the setting located just behind their house in the Saffron county.
