Lámh’s make winning start to life in Division Four

Lámh Dhearg began life in Division Four with a 1-15-2-07 win over Latharna Óg at Hannahstown this afternoon.

Having assembled a blended squad of youth and experience the Lámhs had the better of the early running’s with Daniel Murray scoring two early points and Declan Straney popping one over in-between.

Michael McGuigan then found the net for the hosts but Latharna Óg replied with scores from Cathal McKillop and an excellent point from attacking full-back Darren Martin.

Further scores from Declan Straney, Fionn Mervyn, a double from Mark Hamill, Tiarnan McKenna and another point from Daniel Murray ensured the hosts held a 1-09-0-04 lead at the break.

Latharna Óg were a much-improved outfit after the break and twice hit the net with a double from full-forward Kieran Mulvenna.

Ryan O’Donnell and Conor Matthews chipped in with points for the Larne outfit. But Làmh Dhearg added a few further scores themselves.

Goal scorer Michael McGuigan added to his tally with a point and Daniel Murray added another two to his three accumulated in the opening half.

Declan Straney and Fionn Mervyn also chipped in and added to their opening half scores and in the end the Hannahstown outfit ran out 1-15-2-07 winners to make a positive start to the league campaign.
