The football show remains firmly on the road with another full round of fixtures in all of the divisions scheduled for the mid-week slot on Wednesday evening.
ACFL Division One (all games at 7.30pm)
St Mary’s Aghagallon v Lamh Dhearg
Aghagallon continue to find life tough without the availability of their county players and they found Cargin too hot to handle on Sunday.
The St Mary’s men return to the familiarity of home ground for this one as they play hosts to Lamh Dhearg.
The Lamh’s returned to form last time out when they gained a full return of points of the visiting St. Gall’s but the Hannahstown men are back on the road for this one and may find Aghagallon a tough nut to crack.
St Brigid’s v Kickham’s Creggan
St Brigid’s have been excellent from the outset this season and remain in contention for league honours at present.
The south Belfast men won again last time at Corrigan Park and they will look forward to this one as Creggan pay a visit.
Creggan had a good win over the visiting Gort na Mona on Sunday past and the Kickham’s may well add another couple of points from this one but it should be close.
Gort na Mona v Erin’s Own Cargin
Cargin proved too strong for the visiting Aghagallon last time and they will travel to West Belfast in confident mood.
Gort na Mona failed to impress last time, losing out to Creggan and although Niall Ward’s men will return to home base this time they need to show major improvement if they look to halt the Erin’s Own men.
St John’s v St Enda’s
The Johnnies have recorded a trio of victories to date but failed to cope with the visiting St Brigid’s last time out and will look for better this time as St Enda’s visit the Whiterock road.
St Enda’s really hit form last time when they halted an unbeaten Rossa but this does look a stiff test in Corrigan with a win for the Johnnies anticipated.
St Gall’s v St Mary’s Ahoghill
St Gall’s have proved a trifle enigmatic in their performances this season to date.
The Milltown men lost out again in their trip up to Hannahstown and will be looking for a better return this time as they welcome Ahoghill to Milltown.
Ahoghill still await their first win in the 2021 season and although the Cloney men hinted at better last time when giving Casement’s a run for their money a home win does look probable.
Casement’s Portglenone v O’ Donovan Rossa
Casement’s have proved a trifle hit and miss this year but they had a good win over near neighbours Ahoghill last time and will look forward to the visit of Rossa.
Rossa lost their unbeaten record last time when they visited St Enda’s and the Shaw’s road side will hope to get back to winning ways but they may find the Bannsider’s a tough nut to crack.
Division Two (all games at 7.30pm)
St Joseph’s Glenavy v Michael Davitt’s
Davitt’s did well last time when they proved too good for the visiting Cuchullian’s and they will travel out to Glenavy seeking a similar return.
The Chapel Hill side, with only a couple of wins to date will hope to build on Sunday’s draw at Glenravel and with home advantage may well gain the day.
St Ergnat’s Moneyglass v Tir na Nog Randalstown
This one may well fit the description of ‘match of the day’ as reigning intermediate champions Moneyglass play hosts to league leaders Tir na nOg at Marian Hill.
Moneyglass are certainly more than capable and are only a couple of points in arrears of the Randalstown men and this looks the Whitehill side’s toughest test to date.
St James Aldergrove v Con Magees Glenravel
Only a single point separate this duo with the Crumlin men the minimum in arrears of their visitors and in the knowledge that a full return in points will see them move a step closer to the top.
Glenravel have been in fine form this term and they remain in contention for a top four place and this one could go either way.
St Teresa’s v Kickham’s Ardoyne
Ardoyne have improved as the season has progressed and the North Belfast men will travel to the Glen Roa ind confidence following Sunday’s win over St Paul’s.
St Teresa’s have a bit ground to make up if they are to finish in the top four and they may well add another couple of points from this one to aide progress.
Cuchullian’s Dunloy v All Saint’s Ballymena
Cuchullian’s Dunloy are struggling this season but they have an excellent record against their visitors and may see this as an opportunity to break their duck. All Saints have improved as the season progressed and the current climate would suggest a win for the visitors.
Patrick Sarsfield’s v St Paul’s
St Paul’s have struggled with only a single win to date and they will travel down the road to the Bear Pit in search of an upturn in fortunes.
Sarsfield’s have struggled as well in the 2021 season and remain without a point to date and they may well struggle to cope with their near neighbours.
Division Three (all games 7.30pm)
Laochra Loch Lao v Patrick Pearses
Patrick Pearses have lacked consistency this season but they had a great win over Rasharkin recently and they should collect another couple of points this as they visit Laochra Loch Lao.
St Mary’s Rasharkin v Cardinal O’ Donnell’s
St Mary’s Rasharkin have failed to build on a good start to the season but they will face another tuff task as O’ Donnell’s visit Dreen.
Mc Quillan’s Ballycastle v Eire Og
Eire Og travel travel to Ballycastle but the city dwellers may well leave without reward as a home win looks likely.
St Patrick’s Lisburn v St Agnes
The home side may well be tested in this one as the improving Aggies visit but ground advantage may well tip the balance in their favour with victory for the St Patrick’s men anticipated.
St Malachy’s v St Comgall’s
St Comgall’s are flying high with an unbeaten record to date for Adrian Dougan’s charges which is quite likely to be extended when they visit the out of form St Malachy’s.
