The top two sides in U-14 Division Two South Antrim clashed in the Final of the Fr Mullan Plate final.

St Teresa’s edged the league by a point before lockdown and went in the decider as slight favourites against a Lámh Dhearg side that were determined to have something to show for their endeavours the previous season.

The game lived up to expectations with little separating the sides, St Teresa’s led early on through points from Corey Devlin and Fiachra McDonald.

Lámh Dhearg settled into their rhythm and restored parity through a Ronan Webb point and a fine effort from Sean McCarthy.

The Hannahstown side outfit nudged themselves in front through Webb, only for Rhys Macy to level.

Further points were traded between Matthew Murray and Corey Devlin as the sides went into the break with the final evenly poised and level at 0-04 apiece.

Lámh Dhearg edged back in front after the restart through a point from Ronan Webb and the youngster then found the games opening goal with a powerful low drive to the net to make it 1-05-0-04.

Sean McCarthy and Matthew Murray stretched the lead and Ronan Webb added his fourth point of the afternoon and it appeared as though Lámh Dhearg were almost home and hosed.

But Fiachra McDonald netted for St Teresa’s and James Tennyson conjured up a nice score to make it a grandstand finish at Woodlands.

The Lámhs were able to see the game out however to the claim the 2020 Fr Mullan Plate.
