Ruairi Og Cushendall will play Loughgiel Shamrocks in Sunday evening’s Senior Feis Cup final at CushLig an Airgid in Cushendun at 6-30. I have to say I have no memories of a Feis final being played in Cushendun but if anyone has any info about one please send it on.
Cushendall made their way to the final when they beat St Enda’s on June 25th at Pairc Mhuir. It was a close game during the opening half but Cushendall got on top after half time and pulled away to win by 3-20 to 1-12
Loughgiel made their way through after a thrilling game against Dunloy earlier this week at Pearse Park. Early goals by Rian McMullan and Eddie McCloskey were the key scores in this game and from then on Dunloy were always chasing it.
As has been the case all this season both teams are fielding without their county players but meetings between Loughgiel and Cushendall have always been competitive regardless of that. Both teams will be keen to add a bit of silverware and regardless of who in the field for both clubs they will be keen to get their hands on the Feis Cup.
