Junior B Hurling Championship Group 1
Kickham’s Ardoyne 3-9 All Saints 3-24
After the disappointment of losing to Lamh Dhearg in the division 4 Cup final on Sunday it was back to winning ways for the hurlers of All Saints, Ballymena when they out-scored Ardoyne in an open game of hurling at Fennell Park last night.
On Sunday the Ballymena side were only able to score seven points against the Hannastown side but last night they discovered their shooting prowess again with the terrible twins, Ciaran Neeson and Damian Gillan in unstoppable form.
Neeson finished with 0-12 of his side’s total with 0-7 of those coming from frees and he was matched on the night by the impressive Gillan who scored 1-9 (2f’s). Jack Magill was another who impressed for a good All Saints side and he made a telling contribution with (2-0).
The visitors led 3-9 to 1-7 at half time and 3-17 to 2-8 at the second water break before adding a further 0-7 in the final quarter to run out convincing winners.
This result sees the Ballymena side finish top of their group but they shouldn’t feel complacent as Ardoyne will join them in the semi-finals and if results go according to plan they could meet for a third time this year in the Junior B Final
