Following on the heels of the news about Casement Park finally being granted planning permission Antrim county treasurer Donal Murphy confirmed this week that floodlight will be installed at the Centre of Excellence at Dunsilly.

The Dunsilly site has been widely used over the past year with a series of club championship games and finals played their last season. Having floodlighs on two of the pitches will be a fantastic addition and will increase the possibilites of extra games being played there in the future as well as benifiting the county teams preparations. As Donal Murphy put it “It’ll be a proper home for our county teams.”
“We’re currently using the Jordanstown facility where we have a fantastic relationship with them, and we’ll continue to do so. But, like every other county in Ulster, we need a training facility for ourselves all year round.
“We’ve currently got a multi-million pound facility that we can’t use between October and April on a week day because it’s too dark.”
Musco Sports Lighting have won the contract to install the lights and it is hoped they will be in operation before the end of the year.
