Antrim Under 14 B Camogie Final
Rasharkin 3-3 Bridini Oga 2-1
Rasharkin produced a late surge to win the Under 14B Camogie title at Fr Healy Park Loughgiel on Saturday as the beat Bridini Oga Glenravel in a very exciting final.
Glenravel had started well and a point from Orla Gould was followed by a goal from Eva Woulahan to give them a four point lead. However less than a minute later Rasharkin found the net at the other end when corner forward Jenny O’Neill fired home after the Glenravel defence had failed to clear the ball.
Glenravel still held a one point lead at half time but early in the second half, a great goal from Rasharkin’s Bronagh Doherty put her team ahead for the first time. However Glenravel got back in front again three minutes later when Leona Gillan cut through and fired the ball to the Rasharkin net.
Rasharkin were stating to dominate and though Leona was a little unlucky when her shot for a goal came back off the bottom of the upright, the tide was turning in St Mary’s favour. The final quarter saw them get firmly on top and after Orla Donaghy pointed a free to bring them level, the joint captain added another from a 45 to put them ahead.
Glenravel battled hard to get back in the game but Rasharkin held the upper hand and they sealed the win with another excellent goal from Bronagh Doherty to spark great scenes of celebration
