Littlewoods Ireland Camogie League Division 2 – Group 3
Kerry 0-1 Antrim 9-19
Antrim got their Division 3 League campaign off to a flying start when they scored a facile win over Kerry on Sunday in Tralee.
New manager Elaine Dowds and her backroom team would have been expecting a tougher challenge, but the Kerry side were without the bulk of the team because of the involvement of county champions Clanmaurice in the Munster Club Championship.

The Kerry team sportingly formed a guard of honour for the Antrm team as they came onto the field at the start of the game, to mark the Saffons’ win in last season’s All Ireland Intermediate championship.
Right from the start Antrim were in charge and they went on to lead by 2-10 to 0-1 at half time. The goals kept coming in the second half with Meadbhbh Laverty of St John’s, back in county colours following a few years out through injury leading the scoring with 3-2, Roisin McCormick got 2-3 while Caoimhe Wright hit 2-2, Aine Magill 1-6, Siobhan McKillop 1-3, Christine Laverty 0-2 and Lucia McNaughton 0-1.
The Saffrons will face a much more serious test in two weeks’ time when that take on Galway at home.
