Geordie McGuckin takes a look at this weekend’s U20 and U17 football fixtures and makes his predictions
With the clocks going forward at the weekend senior league competition are to be scheduled in the mid-week evening setting for the next round, with the next phase of the under-age competitions to continue at the week-end.
Sat 26th March
Under-20 League (3.00pm)
Division One
St James Aldergrove v St Ergnat’s Moneyglass
Moneyglass have started the campaign well and following back to back victories in the opening two rounds they will take the road to Crumlin in a positive mode and they may well continue on the winning trail with a win over Aldergrove.
St Brigid’s v Erin’s Own Cargin
This looks a close one as Cargin visit Belfast and an appointment with St Brigid’s and if both field at full strength it promises to be a good game with a share of the spoils possible.
Division Two
St Joseph’s Glenavy v Tir na nOg Randalstown
Having continued unbeaten with back to back wins to date Tir na nOg will hope to continue as the Chapel Hill side visit Randalstown.
Kickham’s Creggan v Lamh Dhearg
This may well be a close one as the Hannahstown men travel out to Creggan but ground advantage may prove the deciding factor here with a win for the Kickham’s anticipated.
Sunday 27th March
Under-17 League (12.00 noon)
St Paul’s v St Brigid’s
This all Belfast affair sees St Brigid’s travel across the city to visit Shaw’s road and cross swords with St Paul’s and although history may suggest this will be a close one the unbeaten visitors get the nod.
All Saint’s Ballymena v St Mary’s Aghagallon
All Saints were just pipped at the post last time out with a one point defeat up at St Brigid’s but they will hope to regain the winning habit in this one as Aghagallon visit.

St Ergnat’s Moneyglass v Erin’s Own Cargin
A local derby as St Ergnat’s Moneyglass play hosts to their near neighbours Cargin with the home side starting as favourites.
Con Magees Glenravel v St Galls
Con Magees earned a full return of the points last time with a win in Toome and they will play hosts to St. Gall’s very much on the positive, with a home win anticipated.
Division Two
Kickham’s Creggan v O’ Donovan Rossa
Having opened with back to back wins Creggan were halted in progress last time out at Portglenone but they may well return to winning ways in this one as Rossa visit the Staffordstown Road.
St James Aldergrove v St Enda’s Glengormley
Aldergrove play hosts as St Enda’s visit Crumlin with both in search of a win with home advantage possibly aiding a win for the St James’s boys.
Corpus Christi Gaels v Cardinal O’ Donnell’s
Corpus Christi Gaels are unbeaten thus far from their trio of outings and they will play hosts to O’ Donnell’s in anticipation of gaining another couple of points.

Lamh Dhearg v Casement’s Portglenone
This looks a close one as Portglenone, with a couple of wins to date travel up to the similar berthed Lamh Dhearg with a draw and a point apiece possible.
St Joseph’s Glenavy v Gort na Mona
Glenavy, with a couple of wins to date play hosts to Gort na Mona in this one with ground advantage possibly tilting the pendulum slightly in favour of the Chapel Hill side.
Division Three
St Comgall’s Antrim v St Patrick’s Lisburn
A couple of wins thus far has ensured St Comgall’s a second from top perch in the table at present and they can gain another couple of points from this one as Lisburn pay a visit to Antrim.
St Brigid’s B v St Teresa’s
St Brigid’s second string play hosts to Glen road based St Teresa’s in this one with a home win anticipated.
Kickham’s Ardoyne v St Paul’s B
Ardoyne have gained a couple of positive returns to date and they may well add another victory here as the St Paul’s second fifteen visit.

St Mary’s Rasharkin v Tir na nOg Randalstown
Tir na nOg lead the way in this division and the Randalstown lads may well return from this trip to Rasharkin with another victory gained.
