Six Soaring Stars for the Saffrons

Antrim picked up six Camogie Soaring Stars awards at tonight’s All Stars dinner in Dublin. Ten of the side who played in the All Ireland final win over Kilkenny last season were nomintated for awards with six being awarded. Ahoghill’s Catriona Graham got the Golakeeper award, while Dunloy’s Chloe Drain was selected at corner back.

Chloe’s Dunloy clubmate Nicole O’Neill won one of the two midfileld slots while three of the six forward postitions were filled by Ballycastle’s Maeve Kelly, who slots in at right-half forward, and the Loughgiel duo of Roisin McCormick and Caitrin Dobbin who take the two corner forward positions. It is the second Soaring Stars awards for Chloe Drain, Nicole O’Neill and Maeve Kelly, having been named on last year’s team, while All except Chloe have won Colleges All Star awards in the past
