St Teresa’s 0-12 Davitt’s 1-11
High flying Davitt’s were made to work hard for their win when they visited Glen Road Heights on Wednesday evening to take on St Teresa’s. A goal from goalkeeper Aaron Slane just before half time put Davitt’s in a strong position as they lead by by 1-6 to 0-5, but a Philly Maguire inspired St Teresa’s took control in the second half and it took late scores from Aaron and Caomhin Slane to seal the win.

Davitt’s got the first two points of the game but St Teresa’s replied with three in a row through John Mallon, Conor O’Rawe and Mark Small to take the lead. Three points in a row from Davitt’s midfielder Caoimhin Slane put them back in charge, and though John Mallon came back with a point for St Teresa’s the visitors goalkeeper Aaron Slane came up to send over a long range point from a free, before firing a penalty to the St Teresa’s net to give his team a 1-6 to 0-5 lead.

St Teresa’s made a strong start to the second half with points from John Mallon, John Erskine and Paul McGoldrick, the latter hitting a great score from out on the right. Slane and Mooney kept Davitt’s noses in front as they pointed at the other end, but the home team closed the gap by to two near the end as Luke Cassin and John Mallon fired over. However Davitt’s displayed the resilient side they have developed under manager Sean McKenna and Slanes did the trick with Aaron coming up to send over point from a free, before Caoimhan hit a real beauty from play to secure the win.
