Antrim Hurling League Division 2
Oisins 1-15 Tir na nÓg 2-17
A strong final quarter saw Tir na nÓg come from three points down to beat the Oisins in Waterfront on Sunday, a result which sees the Randalstown men move into the top four in the league table, but leaves the Oisins still looking for their first points of the campaign.
The Glenariffe men appeared to be going well at a couple of stages during the game, but when Tir na nÓg came with a late surge they had no answer to a Sean Duffin inspired final surge with saw the Whitehill men home with five points to spare.

With a fresh breeze at their backs in the opening minutes Tir na nÓg created, but missed, a few early changes, but when Daniel Kearney pointed for the home team on five minutes they began to find a bit of form. With Seanie McIntosh and Michael O’Boyle and Alex O’Boyle on top form the Oisins took control of the game, ‘Tosh’ firing in a great goal and O’Boyle landing three fine points.
After twenty minutes they seemed to be in a strong position, but Sean Duffin was begging to find his range for the Randalstown side and they edged their way back with three Duffin points and a Ciaran Logan score to draw level on 27 minutes. Duffin edged his side in front for the first time but two well taken points from Alex O’Boyle put the Oisins one clear again going it at the break.

Two more by Duffin after the restart gave his side the edge, but after weathering a bit of a storm four points on the trot from O’Boyle had the home team two ahead again by the 42nd minute. All was to change on 48 minutes when Tir na nÓg corner forward Niall Devlin won possession out on the right wing before going past his marker and planting the ball in the Oisins net. That gave his team back the lead, and when Sean Duffin added two quick points the game was back in the visitors’ control. Alex O’Boyle twice closed the gap to three, but the Oisins could not muster the goal they needed and late points from Joshua Higgins and Sean Duffin had Tir na nÓg five clear at the end.
