A hat-trick of goals from Casement’s mid-fielder, Niall Delargy kept Casement’s on course for a first ever division 1 league title as they swept aside the challenge of Gort na Mona at a sunny Enright Park last night.

The visitors set the tone for the game right from the start, hitting 1-3 in the opening minutes with midfielder Niall Delargy getting his first of three goals. Michael Hagan (0-2) and Paddy Kelly adding the points.

Casements continued to dominate with points from Dermot McAleese, Niall McKeever and Paddy Kelly, before Delargy added a second goal following a save from the Gorts goalkeeper.

Gort naMona rallied and replied with two points from play. However, Casements finished the half strong with Michael Hagan finding the net and further points from Michael Donnelly and Oisín Doherty left the half time score 3-7 to 0-2

The second half followed the same pattern as the first with Casements largely in control. Hagan and Kelly added to their points tally with Niall Delargy completing his hattrick of goals.

In the closing minutes Niall McKeever found himself on the end of flowing move to expertly finish to the net and Oisín Doherty completed the scoring.
