Antrim Hurling League – Division 1
Ballycastle 0-16 Portaerry 5-18
Portaferry travelled to Ballycastle on Sunday and beat the home team convincingly to maintain their unbeaten run in the Division 1.
Goals were the killer for the Town side as the men from the Ards hit five in all on their way to a 5-18 to 0-16 win. An early goal from Daitihi Sands was followed by one from a penalty from Ronan Blaire, while the third one came from Tom McGrattan after 24 minutes at the men in blue and gold opened up a 3-10 to 0-7 half time lead.

Ballycastle midfielder James Bakewell pulled a point back from a free early in the second half but two pointed frees by Ronan Blair increased the vistors’ lead and goal number four came soon afterwards from Daithi Sands, and to make matters worse for the Ballycastle men a misplaced puc-out saw Eoin Sands grab number five.
James Bakewell, Seamus McAuley and ‘Digger’ McKiernan pulled a few back for the injury depleted McQuillan’s men but they were never going to get close to a slick moving Portaferry side who kept their good run going.
