Naomh Eanna missed out in a place in the top 6 prior to the split but they have set the pace in 1B since and with a stronger panel now at their disposal they seem to have turned a corner though it didn’t appear to be the case during of the opening half of their game against St. Gall’s at Hightown on Wednesday evening.
The visitors called the shots during the opening half and with Mickey Pollock, Eoin McCabe and Niall Burns in fine form they looked in command when they led 1-7 to 0-3 at half time.
St. Enda’s slowly reeled in the opposition in the second half with Kristian Healey, Peter Healey and the elusive Odhran Eastwood leading the way and a goal from Eastwood in the 38th minute proved a turning point in the game and closed the gap to the minimum at 1-7 to 1-6.
The visitors hadn’t scored at this stage and were only able to add two second half points to their first half total as St. Enda’s dominated the closing stages with Odhran Eastwood and Conan Lyttle hitting late scores to leave them winners by three points.
