Champions Moneyglass complete trophy laden season with championship win

LGFA U14A Final

Moneyglass v St. Gall’s

Cathy Carey’s army travelled to All Saints Ballymena to play St Galls in the A Championship  U14 final.

The St. Ergnat’s girls had already won the All County and All Ireland Feile titles, and in order to finish off the season on a high, the U14A was their latest priority.

After coming through 3 tough games in the lead up to the final, the Moneyglass girls had St Galls up next in the decider at All Saints, Ballymena.

Moneyglass started the game on the offensive with a goal from Aedin Vallely and a point from Jojo Darragh. St Galls responded with a couple of scores coming from strong running from deep from centre half back, Erin Stewart. In turn, Moneyglass steadied the ship, hitting the net a few times before half time and seemed to be in control.

From the second half throw in, St Galls piled on the pressure and Moneyglass defence, led by Caitlin Graffin, had a lot of work to do but kept any threat at bay until Moneyglass got on the scoreboard at the other end. From goalkeeper Olivia Marron, up to full forward and captain Leah Stewart, the Moneyglass girls finished strongly in a fantastic end to their season, deservedly coming home as Antrim ‘A’ U14 Championship winners.
