Loughgiel’s team of 83 receive a rousing reception

Sunday’s main event at Fr Healy Park took place during the half time interval of the Shamrocks v Rossa league game, when the team of ’83 were introduced to the crowd at half time. As the MC called their names, and the stepped forward to take their bow, they received a rousing reception. Incredibly every one of the team were there, while three of the four members of the management committee who are since deceased were represented by their wives, Ita McGarry, Monica McMullan and Kathleen Patterson.
