Fast starting Tir na nOg secure a second win

ACFL Division 1

Tir na nOg 2-11 St. Enda’s 1-10

In what promises to be the tightest division 1 league campaign for a number of years, Tir na nOg have found points hard to come by despite some solid performances but last night at Whitehill they got off to a fast start and threatened to overrun visitors, St. Enda’s who themselves have been going well.

Tir na nOg got off to a flying start with Darragh Fagan hitting 1-1 inside the opening four minutes to give them just the start they need. Centre half Brandon McLarnon hit a second goal and by half time the Whitehill men looked to be coasting when they led 2-7 to0-2

Despite being without their county contingent, St. Enda’s showed during the second half why they are sitting comfortably in the table.

They came out to dominate the second period and hit 1-4 without reply at one stage with the home side forced to defend in numbers but Tir na nOg held on to win by four in the end and gain two very valuable points.
