Antrim Poc Fada
Liam Watson won the Antrim Poc Fada at the first time of asking when he covered the Gawkstown Hill course in 25 pocs on Saturday, the annual event once again hosted by the Shane O’Neill’s club Glenarm.
Watson said he it was something he had always wanted to try and after seeing the entry form link on Saffron Gael he decided to have a go, even though he hasn’t actually played hurling for a few years now. In second place was Cushendun goalkeeper Garth McGhee who completed the course in 26 pocs, while last year’s champions, and former All Ireland Under 16 winner, Donal McKernan of Sarsfields was third in 27.

Teresa McAllister of St John’s Camogie Club, Carnlough won the Senior Camogie event with Shannon McCann of Lamh Dhearg and Christina Smith of St Mary’s Rasharkin ending tied in joint second.
Sean Og McLaren of St Paul’s retained his under 16 Boys title with another impressive display in 28 pocs, ahead of Cadhán Graham of Oisins Glenariffe, with Neil Rodgers of the host club Shane O’Neill’s in third.
Eimhear Ward made it a double for the John’s Carnlough Camogie Club when she won the Under 16 Camogie title, ahead of Mary McArthur of Dunloy with Aoibh Woods from Naimh Eanna in third place.
The winners will go through the Ulster final which will be held at the same venue, Gawkstown Hill, Feystown on Tuesday week, 20th June.

A world of praise must go to the event hosts Shane O’Neill’s Glenarm who once again had things running smoothly and to Gawkstown Hill owners, the O’Kane family for letting their land be used.
Hopefully see you all back there on Tuesday week.
