Antrim LGFA Under 14 Championship final
There’s no show like a Jo Jo show. At a sun kissed Dunsilly on Thursday evening the name on everyone’s lips was Jo Jo Darragh. The talented Moneyglass girl put on an exhibition of forward play that would grace any occasion never mind a championship final as she led her team to their third U14 Championship in a row.

The South West side got off to a blistering start hitting 3-8 to 0-2 in the first fifteen minutes up to the first water break. If there were any notions, however, that the game was over, a resilient St. Galls put those to bed very quickly. With two long high testing balls launched into the square, came two goals within a minute 1st goal scored by St Galls Holly Hilton and all of a sudden it was game on. St Galls well lobbied, second came from the talented Gemma Mullan who also kicked one well taken points in the first half.
Such was Moneyglass strength all over the pitch it wasn’t long before they wrestled back control. With Aedin Vallelly, Ruby McErlain and JoJo Darragh in fine form the scores flowed. The second and third quarters were definitely the most competitive with St. Galls hitting a brace of goals in each. 5-10 to 2-3 was the halftime score and at the second water break the gap had narrowed to 5-12 to 4-3 with St Galls girls Aoibhinn Fallon and Jessica Chapman tucking away a goal each. Olivia Whelan and Niamh Ni Muirigh putting a point each over the bar.
But as the game entered the twilight Moneyglass threw the shackles off to run out convincing winners on a score line of 7-16 to 4-3.

St Galls put up a great fight to the champions and have numerous very talanted players. Its always a good contest when these teams clash .
A great win for the outstanding Moneyglass girls. There seems to be endless talented young players coming through the ranks in this club. Im sure the management team, Kevin Madden and Ruairi O’Boyle are delighted with the girls performance.
The future looks bright in Moneyglass.
