Reserve Football Cup
Rossa 3-21 St. Enda’s 1-7
Rossa produced a strong second half performance to make it to the semi final of the reserve championship. This game started as a competitive encounter much like their last league clash when Rossa hung on for a narrow victory.

Rossa started strongly but were unable to put their dominance onto the scoreboard. The St Enda’s defence were coping well with anything the Shaw’s Road men threw at them, none more so than their keeper Nathan Kerr, who made a number of excellent saves from the Rossa burly full forward Enda Flavin . However it was Diarmuid Rogan, the young dual star, who finally opened some daylight when he scored a peach of a goal from 20 meters into the roof of the net 20 minutes into the first half.
This score shook the Hightown Road men and they produced some first class football to finish the half strongly. They missed a number of gilt edge chances but their goal from ace forward Sean McBride was worth the wait. They had Rossa on the ropes, only leading by four points when the half time break arrived in time to allow the Shaw’s Road men an opportunity to regroup.

The second half allowed Rossa to find some rhythm and they started to dominate on the field of play and more importantly the scoreboard. Mick McEnhill led by example and his point from the sideline was the best score of the game. Now the Rossa men, especially Patrick Moyes, Daire Cunningham, Liam Carr and Darren Grego were linking play together and finally they broke down the St Enda’s resilience when the big barber Spud O’Neill, found his shooting boots to score a fine goal.
With St Enda’s under pressure Rossa tagged on a few late scores and veteran Rossa keeper Paudie Short made four excellent stops to avoid any possibility of a late comeback from the Glengormley men .
Best for Rossa were the Flavin brothers Enda and Conor, Jack Morris, Mick McEnhill and Pearse Shortt. St Enda’s stars included Nathan Kerr, Colm McCabe, Ciaran McKeown, Ben O’Reilly and Michael Kennedy.
