Lamhs day of celebration as they receive the Division 2 trophy

Lamh Dhearg 4-20 St Enda’s 1-6

Lamh Dhearg celebrated winning Division 2 of the Antrim LGFA League with a comprehensive win over St Enda’s in their final game of the league campaign at Hannahstown on Sunday evening.

With a good support there to join in the celebrations the home side were on the front foot from the start and went four points up after seven minutes, the scores coming from Ciara Doherty (2), Rachael Mulholland and Orlaith Webb. It all appeared to be plain sailing but they Lamh Dhearg girls received a jolt when St Enda’s came back with a goal on nine minutes from midfielder Kearna Donnelly to cut their deficit back to just a point.

However the Lamhs were soon back in control and after Robyn Murray added a point, full forward Ciara Doherty fired in a goal at the other end to put them back in control and Orlaith Webb added another on 23 minutes to help her side to a 2-7 to 1-2 lead by half time.

The second half turned out to be a one way traffic as the Hannahstown girls took control all over the field. Two points apiece by Rachael Mulholland and Isla Annett, plus one from Maebh Martin opened the gap even further, before Orlaith Webb grabbed her team’s third goal on 40 minutes. The points kept flowing as Larkin, McKinley, Annett, Murray and Mulholland found the target. St Enda’s did come back with a couple of points of their own but Lamh Dhearg put the seal on a great win with goal number four from Robyn Murray five minutes from time.
