Dunloy’s defeat to Loughgiel in the Senior Hurling semi-final in Ballycastle put paid to a much talked about Senior Hurling and Senior Football double. Cuchullian’s were still on target of achieving it going into Sunday’s encounter but Loughgiel spoiled the party with a comprehensive 11 point victory over their nearest rivals.
Ironically, with all the talk of a possible Dunloy double success the fact that two of the weekend’s football finalists, Rasharkin (Junior) and Glenravel (Intermediate) are still on line for a league and championship double of their own.
Of course O’Donnell’s and All Saints may have something to say about that and you can expect big crowds at Dunsilly on Friday night, Portglenone on Saturday and a bumper crowd at Corrigan on Sunday for what promises to be a great weekend’s entertainment.
Throughout the week we will be previewing these finals, taking a look at the players who might influence the outcomes and as always, the Saffron Gael will be there to bring you unrivalled coverage of these deciders.
