Under 19B Football Championship
Con Magees 2-16 Sarsfields 0-5
Con Magees secured a place in the final of the Under 19 B Football Championship when they beat Sarsfields in Tuesday evening’s semi-final at Dunsilly. The Belfast side led in the early stages, thanks to a great display from corner forward Brian Healy but once Peadar McDonnell got Glenravel’s first goal they took control of the game.
Healy hit the first two points of the game to get Sarsfields off to a good start but Colla Ward pulled one back for Glenravel and Peadar McDonnell put them ahead with a goal soon afterwards. Two more Healy points brought the Paddies level but Glenravel held the upper hand for the remainder of the first half and point from Niall Hynds, Peadar McDonnell (2) and Daire Higgins had them 1-5 to 0-4 ahead by half time.

The second half was all one way traffic as Con Magees took control and when Eamon Ward got their second goal from a penalty early n the second half there was no way back for Sarsfield’s. Ward hit two more points, Daire Higgins got two, Peadare McDonnell two, Daire Higgins two, Fergus Donaghy two while substitute Harry Fyfe got one. Brian Healy kept battling away for Sarsfields and was rewarded with a point from a free late in the game.
