ST Killian’s Garron Tower are through to the final of Corn Eimhear for just the second time ever after Eva McNeill held her nerve with a late free in Ballycastle yesterday to secure a single point victory over Cross & Passion.
CPC started well with the first three points from Eaobha McAllister (two) and Eimhear McCaughan and they went on to lead by 1-4 to 0-5 at half-time after Hannah O’Neill’s goal in the 20th minute.
St Killian’s however opened the second half with three points in a row from Eva McNeill (two) and Tamara Black before Clíodhna Thompson hit back with two in a row.

The Tower then won a penalty that McNeill converted only for Eabha McAllister to hit the net at the other end directly from a free and Marie Laverty pointed for a two points’ lead for Cross & Passion.
The drama was all reserved for the last seven minutes. Méadhbh Graham hit back with a goal for St Killian’s and in a frenetic final few minutes, Eva McNeill put her side two up.
Eimear McCaughan and Adria McAlister then levelled before McNeill avoided extra time with a point from a late free.
The other semi-final was earlier in the week with holders St Patrick’s Maghera enjoying a 5-19 to 1-2 win over St Louis Ballymena.
The final will take place on Tuesday 7th November at the Dub.
