Allianz Ireland Cumann na mBunscol Indoor Hurling
Mount St Michael’s Randalstown retained their Allianz Ireland cumann na mBunscol indoor hurling trophy after a great days hurling at the Antrim Forum.
They emerged as victors in a close, hard fought final against St Mary’s Portglenone. A game where both sides displayed great skill, determination and hunger.



The day begin with seven schools in attendance, namely; St Brigid’s Ballymena, St Joseph’s Crumlin, Mount St Michael’s Randalstown, St Mary’s Portglenone, Mary Queen of Peace Glenravel, Moneynick and Millquarter. Each school had plenty of game time and had the opportunity to compete against all other schools. The group stage saw Mount St Michaels, Mary Queen of Peace, St Joseph’s and St Mary’s qualify for the semi-final of the cup. Two excellent semi-finals resulted in the lads from Randalstown and Portglenone going head to head and it is the Mount St Michael’s team who will go forward to represent the South West at the all county finals. Congratulations to them.



The shield competition saw silverware go to St Brigid’s of Ballymena, overcoming Millquarter in a memorable penalty shootout in the semi-final. They faced up against an excellent Moneynick team in the final and after a close, tense and enthralling final, it was penalties again!!!! Some excellent penalties and outstanding goalkeeping saw the shield go the way of the boys from Ballymena.
