Antrim secured their place in the final of the Ulster Under 16 Hurling final when they beat Down on Sunday at Dunsilly.

Last week the young Saffrons had got the better of Derry in a hard fought game and extra game boosted their confidence going in to Sunday’s clash with the Down side.

Antrim started strongly and goals from Jay McAlonan and top scorer Cadhan Crawford helped them to a 2-7 to 0-3 lead at half time.

The home side continued to dominate in the second half and further goals followed from Crawford, Caolan Wilson and Ciaran McCann, while Canice McIntosh, James McDonnell and Crawford added to the points tally as won with a bit to spare.

The win puts them through to the Ulster final against the winners of next week’s final round robin game between Derry and Down.
