Carey Faughs did ‘Strictly’..and did it very well

Well over 400 hundred people descended on Carey Faughs last Saturday evening to witness a fantastic evening of entertainment by local dancers, who had been tutored for past six weeks by Loughgiel dancing instructor Claire McGuckian.  The line-up included 4  current senior Carey players. First up were father and daughter team Patrick McVeigh and Christina,  followed by Cealach Lavell and Gerard Cubby McAuley, with the crowd now getting full value for money Anne McBride and young Pearce Hegarty took the floor, next appearing for his second strictly was Darren McVeigh and partner Clare O’Brien, followed by Patricia Laverty and birthday boy Robert ‘Elvis’ Hunter. The second half kicked off with Shamrocks girl Simone Connelly and Carey defender Sean McBride,  Aoibh Mullan and another hurler Conleth McKinley were the seventh pair  with recently married John McBride and Megan up next, the entertainment had the crowd rocking,  Ballyvoy pair Bronagh Burns and Aodhan McAuley were the penultimate couple followed by another Shamrock Therse Mc Kinley and Carey corner back Eoin Hill. What turned out to be a difficult night for the judges, Theresa and Eoin claimed the judges award with Anne and Pearce picking up the audience award.
