St. Enda’s 4-13 Moneyglass 3-9
On a perfect evening for football it was a clash at the lower half of the table as Moneyglass travelled to Hightown in positive spirits after sharing the spoils with Ballymena in their last outing.
The opening score of the evening came from a converted free from Conor Boyd in the 4th minute to get the visitors on the move, however, the home side responded immediately with a point from Stephen O Connor.
It was end to end action throughout the opening 10minutes and Moneyglass increased the lead when a well worked move involving Conor Boyd and Dermot Mc Erlain saw Kevin Mc Cann find the St. Endas net.


The sides again traded points back and forth through Colm Duffin, Aidan Mc Erlain, Conor O Kane and Dermot Mc Erlain for the visitors and James Mc Auley, Donal Walsh and Stephen O Connor for the home side.
St. Endas battled hard winning possession around the middle and the tenacity paid off with a superb strike from Donal Walsh from out on the right saw his effort find the top corner of the Moneyglass net.
The visitors regrouped and found momentum however their well worked effort via Sean Boyd and Aidan Mc Erlain saw Colm Duffin’s attempt strike the woodwork. St. Enda’s capitalised on what should’ve been a goal for the visitors and pushed on to gain a healthy lead at the break 3-7 v 1-05.
The second half started just as bright as the first with a goal in the opening minute from St. Endas Conan Lyttle which was immediately cancelled out by a second goal for the visitors through Aidan Mc Erlain who was proving a handful in attack.
The visitors upped the pace through Paul Duffin and Colm Duffin, who won possession around the middle and with a carefully weighted pass sent his brother Seanchan through and his solo effort found the back of the St.Endas net.


The home side however held their nerve and added further points to stretch their lead through Cormac Morgan & Tomas Gilmour.
A black card issued to St. Enda’s No.2 for a foul on Sean Boyd saw them reduced to 14 men and the visitors capitalised with 2 more points from the boot of Conor Boyd.
Just as it looked like St. Ergnat’s were building some momentum in the final quarter, the home side took command of the remaining minutes and added scores from the inform Stephen O Connor, Fionn Nagle and Sean Murray to cement their lead and run out convincing winners in the end 4-13 v 3-09.
