ACFL Division 1
Rossa 3-13 Moneyglass 1-5
A strong second half display ensured the Shaw’s Road men collected another two league points.
The South West men started the game on fire and hit the net after 30seconds with a fine strike from Conor O’Kan .
Paul Duffin and Colm Duffin added early points and only for a number of fine saves from Michael McEnhill this could have been an even better first quarter for Moneyglass. However Rossa gradually clawed their way back into the game and by the 25th minute the sides were level. Then Rossa scored their first goal as dual star Tommy Morgan found himself at the end of a great move and he made no mistake as he rattled the net with a fine strike.

The second period began with Rossa starting to impose themselves with midfielders Oisin McVicker and Gerard Walsh leading the way.
Rossa keeper Michael McEnhill made another great save from Seanachain Duffin and this save spurred the Rossa men to a greater effort.
Their second goal came shortly afterwards from full forward Colm Fleming who was on hand to drive a loose ball to the net and breaking the Moneyglass men’s resistance.
Despite the efforts of Paul Duffin, Aidan McErlaine and Diarmuid Scullin they never looked likely to score a much needed second goal.
Instead it was Rossa who picked up another major when James Augey was on hand to put the ball in the net after a fine run from Patrick Moyes.
Moneyglass should take great heart from their performance especially after their first half performance. Benny Marron will be keen to get players back for the later stages of the league.
