All Ireland Senior Camogie Championship – Group 1 – Round 3
Tipperary 1-17 Antrim 0-06
Table toppers Tipperary were too strong for Antrim in Saturday’s Group 1 game at The Ragg winning in the end by fourteen points. Antrim fought hard and contained the Permier county well in the second half, but the damage had been done in the opening half as the hosts sent over 12 points and added a goal through Jean Kelly in the 24th minute. Unfortunately the scores were much harder to get for the Saffrons, both points coming from Roisin McCormick frees.

The second half saw the visitors fare much better at the back as they held Tipperary to just five points, while scoring four of their own. Roisin McCormick got the first of those four from a free, two minutes after the restart, but it was a further 21 minutes before Maeve Kelly got her team’s second, their only score from play. Tipp came back with one more to take their tally to 1-17 but credit to Antrim who fought to the bitter end and their efforts were rewarded as they got the last three points of the game.
It doesn’t get any easier for the Saffons as they host Waterford on Saturday week before travelling to Limerick in their final game the following week.
