Aer Lingus airline pilot Conor Carson was flying high on Wednesday evening when scored a hat-trick of goals for Ruaiir Og Cushendall in their Reserve Hurling Cup quarter final against St Enda’s at Paric Mhuire.

The former Antrim county star showed he still has the goal scoring touch as he hit two in the first half of his team’s runaway win over St Enda’s, Oisin Woodhouse getting the other goal and Paddy McGill four points as they raced to a 3-13 to 0-03 half time lead.

Carson completed his hat-trick two minutes into the second half, and added a point for good measure as the Ruairis stretched their lead, Joseph McNaughton adding one and Oisin Birt two. The visitors top scorer pulled a point back a minute later but Cushendall pushed on and cruised to victory to set up a semi-final meeting with St John’s in two week’s time.

In the other quarter finals Loughgiel and a big win over Rossa at Fr Healy Park while Dunloy travelled to Pairc MacUillin and beat Ballycastle to set up a semi-final clash with the Shamrocks.
