Ulster LGFA Junior Football Championship semi-final – @ Tir na nÓg
Antrim 4-21 – London 0-02
Antrim senior ladies progressed to the final of the Ulster Junior Football Championship with this comprehensive 4-21 to 0-2 victory over London at Tir na nog Randalstown on Sunday… Maria O Neill was the star of the show hitting 1-9…



Theresa Mellon opened the account after 20 seconds with a fine point and after five minutes they were 3 to the good courtesy of two Maria o Neill points … Captain Bronagh Devlin then raised two white flags in a row before Laura Agnew hit a great point from distance.. Theresa Mellon chipped in with a beautiful point .. Maria O’Neill added to her tally with a point before raising the first green flag of the day with a powerful shot to the bottom corner of the London net .. Aine lynch was next to keep the scoreboard ticking over and just before the half time whistle Maria o Neill slotted between the uprights twice ..
the second half was completely bossed by the Antrim girls and in the first 3 minutes of the second half Theresa Mellon and Maria on will had raised a green flag each .. Bronagh Devlin was next to get on the scoreboard followed by two o Neill points .. Ana Mulholland then scored a point when she fisted over the bar and Aoife Turley took a great score from 35 meters.. the lively Blaithin ni Cahill then took a great score before o Neill added to her total with two good points ..


Blaithin was then took down in the box and from the resulting penalty Bronagh Devlin calmly slotted home to round of the scoring from a very impressive Antrim team …
Management were happy with the result after the game …
This group works tirelessly and the unity and belief they have drives them on..
tho we still have a long way to go to reach our targets…
An ulster final is no more than these girls deserve..
today we had ten different clubs represented on the field of play which shows the talent that is within the county ..
we will keep the head down over the next two weeks and prepare for the final in two weeks time ..
we would also like to thank our hosts today Tir na nog Randlestown who had the pitch in immaculate order and the facilities and hospitality was first class…
The final is Saturday 17 may.. venue yet to be confirmed…
