All Saints GAC enjoyed its biggest and most successful Kellogg’s Cúl Camp to date, with a record-breaking 170 children taking part in a fantastic week of fun, learning and Gaelic games.
The camp was made possible by a dedicated team of 26 fully qualified coaches, whose enthusiasm, energy and commitment ensured that every child had a safe, enjoyable and unforgettable experience throughout the week.
Children took part in a wide range of activities across camogie, ladies’ football, boys’ football and hurling, with plenty of exciting games, skill development and fun challenges keeping everyone engaged from start to finish. Even though the weather forecast had predicted thunderstorms and weather warnings, we were very fortunate that the children were able to enjoy all of our GAA activities without the hindrance of getting too wet. Although some of them did enjoy playing out in the rain during the short spells we did have it. The Kellogg’s Cúl Camp once again provided a wonderful opportunity for young players to improve their skills, make new friends and develop a love for Gaelic games in a positive and inclusive environment.
The camp concluded with a special visit from All Saints senior footballers and county players, Paddy McAleer and Kavan Keenan, who shared stories from their own journeys through the juvenile ranks at All Saints before representing both club and county. They also offered the children valuable tips and advice on the dedication, hard work and commitment needed to reach the highest level of the game.
The week ended with the presentation of prizes, recognising children for their outstanding skills, effort and positive attitude throughout the camp. The smiles on the faces of the young participants were a fitting reward for another hugely successful Cúl Camp.
The children also had the opportunity to test their skills of kicking and pucking the sliotar against the speed cage, which proved to be a hugely popular activity throughout the week. A special thank you goes to Team Kit, who kindly provided the speed cage, helping to make the camp even more enjoyable and memorable for all the children involved.
All Saints GAC would like to thank all of the coaches, volunteers, parents and supporters, as well as Alfie Hanaway, Antrim GAA coordinator, and Jason Quinn, Antrim GAA Cúl Camp mentor, for all of their advice and expertise, who helped make this year’s camp such a tremendous success and look forward to welcoming everyone back again next summer.
A special word of thanks is also extended to Stevie McAfee, George Freil, Brian McCambridge, and Joe Casey, who gave their time and effort to help tidy up each day and ensured that the club grounds were left secure and in excellent condition at the end of every evening. Their contribution was greatly appreciated and did not go unnoticed.
