After six incredible years with the GPA, it’s time to say thank you to Ciarán Barr.

Since joining us in 2020, Ciarán has played a hugely important role in the GPA, helping guide the association through a period of significant change and progress.

From helping steer the GPA through the merger with the WGPA, to stepping up as Interim CEO in 2021, Ciarán has been at the heart of some of the most significant periods in our history.

As a former inter-county player and Antrim’s first hurling All-Star, Ciarán has always understood the commitment and sacrifice that comes with representing your county. That understanding of the player experience has been at the heart of everything he has done with the GPA, from strategic leadership to supporting players with their careers, businesses and financial wellbeing.

Ciarán has played a hugely important role in what has been a period of real progress for the association, always keeping the needs of players at the centre of his work.

We’re incredibly grateful for everything Ciarán has given to the GPA over the past six years and for the lasting contribution he has made to the association and our members.
