Ulster Senior LGFA Championship – Group 2, Round 1

St Ergnat’s Moneyglass 5-16 St Eunan’s Letterkenny 0-8

St Ergnat’s Moneyglass got their Ulster Senior Club Championship campaign off to an impressive start with a convincing victory over St Eunan’s Letterkenny at Loughbeg Road, Moneyglass.

Played in perfect weather conditions, the game was a lively and energetic encounter, with both teams showing plenty of determination, commitment and enthusiasm from the opening whistle.

St Eunan’s arrived in Moneyglass just a week after competing in their Donegal County Final, but despite a busy few weeks, the visitors gave it their all and battled hard throughout the contest.

Moneyglass settled well into the game, moving the ball confidently and making good use of their possession. Their attacking play caused problems for the St Eunan’s defence, while at the other end, the home side remained organised and disciplined, making scoring opportunities difficult for the visitors.

As the first half progressed, Moneyglass began to build a commanding lead, combining some excellent passages of play with clinical finishing in front of goal. By the half-time whistle, the home side had established a strong advantage, leading 3-7 to 0-3.

The second half saw Moneyglass pick up where they had left off, continuing to press forward and add to their scoring tally.

St Eunan’s never stopped battling and kept the pressure on Moneyglass until the final blow .

Well done to Moneyglass and best of luck in two weeks time when they will travel to play Kinawley the Co Fermanagh  champions .
