Roger Casements GAC & LGFA and Geraldine’s Camogie Club Portglenone to Mark Global Wave of Light 2026 🩷💙

Roger Casements GAC & LGFA and Geraldine’s Camogie Club, Portglenone, will jointly take part in the Global Wave of Light this evening, Thursday 15th October, with a special candlelit gathering in remembrance of precious babies and children gone too soon.

The two clubs are proud to participate in Féileacáin’s official Wave of Light Ireland initiative, joining buildings, landmarks and GAA clubs across the country in illuminating their premises in pink and blue as a symbol of love, remembrance and solidarity with bereaved families.

At 7pm, club members, families, friends and the wider community are warmly invited to gather at Páirc Uí Chatháin, Portglenone, where the clubhouse will be illuminated in pink and blue and candles lit in memory of all the precious little lives who will never be forgotten.

The evening holds particular significance for both clubs, with close connections to families affected by baby loss and to Ár Réaltaí Beaga (Our Little Stars), a special initiative working towards establishing a permanent place of remembrance at Croke Park for the precious babies of GAA families across Ireland.

The clubs will also be raising funds for The White Butterfly Foundation, a local charity providing compassionate and psychological support to families affected by miscarriage, pregnancy loss, baby loss and neonatal death.

Taking place during Baby Loss Awareness Week, the gathering offers an opportunity for the community to come together, support bereaved families and remember the little lives who, although no longer with us, will forever remain part of our families, clubs and communities.

Everyone is warmly invited to join us this evening, Thursday 15th October, at 7pm at Páirc Uí Chatháin, Portglenone. We also extend a warm welcome to members of neighbouring GAA clubs, sporting organisations and community groups who wish to join us for this special evening of remembrance.

Those attending are asked to bring their own candle, with tea and refreshments served afterwards at the club’s Tuc Shop.

Every little life matters. Every little star is remembered. Forever loved, forever missed and never forgotten. 🩷💙🦋
