St. Brigid’s PS Ballymena Pupil is Croke Park Bound.

One Co. Antrim school pupil has a special reason to look forward to this year’s All Ireland Hurling final. Fintan Brady, who has just completed his P7 year at St. Brigid’s PS in Ballymena, is preparing to grace the hallowed turf having been selected to play in the Allianz Cumann Na mBunscol half time game on Sunday. The All Saints GAC player is looking forward to the experience though he’s only recently found out that he will actually be playing on final day. Originally selected to participate at some stage of the All Ireland series before he left school for the summer holidays a letter indicating that it would be in the final arrived in early July. Fintan was of course delighted with that news and can’t wait for his big day to arrive. As a participant Fintan can look forward to playing in front of tens of thousands of supporters wearing either the white of Waterford or the maroon of their opponents,   Galway. He’ll also get a chance to meet the GAA president and change in the Croke Park changing rooms. And as for who he wants to win he says it has to be Galway … and the reason … Joe Canning is one of his favourite players. A great day ahead for the young Saffron.

Is there someone from your club taking part in Sunday’s half time action. If so send us a photograph and details asap.
