Great performance by Naomh Gall U12 footballers in the O’Donnell Cup at McCrory Park on Sunday. The attitude and commitment from this group was first class from the start. The standard of the football especially the running off the shoulder play and man marking from U12’s was exciting to watch and was more akin to minor level. St Pauls fought hard and gave St Galls a tough match though the fast flowing football and hard tackling took St galls through. Credit must go to the dedication of the Naomh Gall mentors Paddy Murray, Ciaran McCrossan and Paddy McShane all ex senior footballers who have obviously put significant time in with the boys and have them very well drilled and playing some entertaining football. With 2 mins to go Eoin Mullan went down after a challenge and there was concern after he was taken away in an ambulance. Great team work however from St Galls and St Pauls mentors to ensure he was made comfortable till the ambulance arrived. Thankfully it has since been confirmed that there was no break and Eoin will be resting for next few weeks. Great to see Eoin helping lift the cup in back of ambulance, that’s team spirit for you!!
