U21 Football Championship Grading Round

Gort na Mona 3-6  Portglenone 1-6

Gort na Mona proved too good for visitors Portglenone in this grading round U21 football championship game at Enright Park on Saturday. Goals from Tommy McGoran, Sean Doyle and Brendan Corr paved the way for an excellent victory as the feel good factor in the Turf Lodge club continues.

Niall Melaney weighed in with four points and Jude Reilly and Cricky Carson completed the scoring with points apiece to ensure the ‘Gorts’ a place in the first round proper of the ‘A’ championship where they are joined by Lamh Dhearg, St. Enda’s, St. Gall’s and St. Ergnat’s Moneyglass.

Despite a full programme of fixtures these were the only games that went ahead owing to the Senior Football Championship replay between Cargin and St. Johns with the Glenavy v cargin game scheduled for this weekend.
