Annual charity quiz at St. Joseph’s Glenavy

St. Joseph’s GAC hosted their annual charity quiz for Public Initiative for Prevention of Suicide and Self Harm (PIPS) in the Fiddler’s Inn, Crumlin last Thursday night (28th December). As in previous years the event was well attended and the craic was good. The questions, as usual, were posed by Joe ‘Magnus’ O’Boyle and were wide ranging, testing everyone’s powers of memory from historical and modern day events. Most importantly the event raised £573 for PIPS and provided another opportunity to highlight the very good work being carried out by the PIPS charity.

This is the first of two charitable events organised by the Glenavy club. The second is a ‘Big Breakfast’ on Sunday 14th January in St. Clare’s Community Hall, Glenavy. This event is being held on behalf of the Bradley family, following the tragic loss of their son Mathew in Liverpool, for the Kevin Bell Repatriation fund. Breakfast will be served from 9.30 to 1.pm and everyone is welcome.

Following the above, the club are hosting the hilarious Grimes and McKee production- St. Mungo’s Luganulk ‘The Umpire Strikes Back’ on Friday 2nd February at 7pm in St. Clare’s Community Hall. Tickets are priced at £15 and can be purchased by contacting 07736 054281
