This Week’s South West Fixtures

With a few of Sunday’s Mc Cormick Cup fixtures not completed the South West Board have moved quickly to rearrange some of those with evening games under illumination.

The All county leagues are due to get under way in a couple of weeks and the South West division will look to proceed with their competitions prior to such.

The remaining ties are fixed again for Sunday 25th March.

The first round game involving All Saint’s and near neighbours Ahoghill will proceed tonight (Monday), with Rasharkin set to travel to Aghagallon on the next evening (Tuesday).

The Feile Cup and Shield competition continue on Sunday with semi-final ties on both.

Erin’s Own Cargin have already claimed a berth in the Cup decider following a win gained over St James Aldergrove on Sunday last whilst Tir na Nog made progress into the semi finals at the expense of last year’s finalists St Ergnat’s Moneyglass.

The Randalstown side will meet up with All Saint’s on Sunday to determine who will meet up with the Toome boys in the decider.

Con Magee’s win over Rasharkin on Sunday last ensures they will participate in the Shield final and will meet up with either Casement’s or Cuchullian’s Dunloy in the final of the event.

Mc Cormick Cup (round one)

Monday 19th March (at 7.30 pm)

All Saint’s Ballymena v St Mary’s Ahoghill

This one sees the second string of St Mary’s Ahoghill take the short journey into Ballymena to meet up with their counterparts from All Saint’s, the residents of Slemish Park.

All Saint’s do have a strong youth based panel at disposal and although their visitors will give them a game a home win does seem the most likely result.

Tuesday 20th March (at 8.00pm)

St Mary’s Aghagallon v St Mary’s Rasharkin

St Mary’s Rasharkin take the road up to Aghagallon in this one and the Dreen men do seem to be facing up to a stern test as they line out against the St Mary’s side.

Aghagallon too have a strong panel at their disposal and such is underlined by the fact that they had seven youngsters involved in Mondays Mc Crory Cup finalists’, St Ronan’s Lurgan.

Aghagallon will enter the fray as favourites and they should prevail.

Wednesday 20th March (at 8.00pm)

Casement’s Portglenone v St Ergnat’s Moneyglass

This does look likely to be a close one as Casement’s play hosts to Moneyglass at O’ Cahan Park.

Both having already seen action in the O’ Cahan cup competition so strength and depth within respective squads will play a part.

Casement’s will start as favourites and they may well gain passage.

Sunday 25th March (at 2.30pm)

Erin’s Own Cargin v St James Aldergrove

Cargin do have a strong panel at disposal as underlined in success gained in the last two All County reserve competitions and they will start as favourites here as they welcome St James Aldergrove to Toome.

Aldergrove did falter last term having endured relegation from the top division but they are more than capable of a quick return and they do have a strong panel as well.

A close one in prospect but ground advantage may well aid Cargin to a home victory.

Cuchullian’s Dunloy v St Patrick’s Lisburn

St Patrick’s Lisburn will travel down to Dunloy for this assignment and the competition status does ensure they can take the road with prospects of a positive return.

The Cuchullian’s have a strong youth based panel at disposal having captured the All County Minor championship in 2016 and will most likely provide stiff opposition to their visitors.

A close one in prospect but Dunloy can edge it.

Kelly’s Mace Dunloy Feile Cup (semi-final) at 12 noon

Tir na Nog Randalstown v All Saint’s Ballymena

Heffron’s OF Randalstown Feile Shield (semi-final) 12 noon

Casements v Dunloy
