Laverty Cup – South West Antrim Minor Football Championship

Con Magees 3-06 All Saints 3-11

A dominant first half display which saw them turn over twelve points to the good set All Saints up for victory over Con Magees in Sunday’s Laverty Cup semi-final at Fr Maginn Park, Glenravel.

The Ballymena boys were on top from the start and two goals from corner forward Jake White and one from full-forward Shea O’Brien put them firmly in control. They also added points through Aidan Scullion (2), Ronan Laverty, Eoghan Daly, Conor Stewart (2) and Shea O’Brien, while the Glenravel goal came from Rian Lennon and their two points from Lennon and Conleth O’Loan as the Ballymena boys opened up a 3-8 to 1-02 half time lead.

The home team fared much better in the second half, scoring 2-5 while restricting their visitors to just three points. The goals came from Adam Campbell and Sean McKay but All Saints had already sealed their place in the final against Tir na nOg in what promised to be a great contest in two weeks’ time.
