After a long school holiday, we hope all our members had a great time at the various destinations you all went to. For those of us that stayed at home we were really lucky with the weather and there is no more beautiful place on earth than Ireland, when the sun shines. As usual there has been lots of things going on in the background, which are laid out below.
To celebrate our Club’s 75th Anniversary we want to bring everyone together on Saturday 1st September. There are loads of activities planned for our youth with the big event of the day being a Club Photo, something for the memoirs! Attached is a poster outlining all the planned activities. Wear your colours on the day and we hope to see you there! Please feel free to spread the word to anyone who has played a role or supported the Club over the years. It would be great to see all those who are part of the Club’s history and future!
Before that we have the raffle for the All-Ireland tickets, which will take place in the club rooms at 7.30pm next Tuesday night (28th). NB you cannot enter the draw unless you are a fully paid up adult member and must make your intention known that you wish to be included in the draw. Tickets will only be handed over in receipt of full payment (£75 per ticket).
Plans for the 75th Gala dinner in the Europa Hotel on the 6th October are well under way. Already 234 tickets have been sold for what promises to be a brilliant night. The president of the GAA will be joining us and we have prizes to be won and items to be bought at an auction. Tickets are £60 each, please contact Dermot O’Boyle (07736 054281) if you would like to purchase a ticket. The last date for ticket purchases is Friday 7th September. Tickets will be on sale tomorrow morning (Saturday 25th August) in the clubrooms from 10am – 11.30am also. In addition, if you want to stay in the Europa on the night we have negotiated a favourable B&B rate. Single rooms our £95 and £105 for double.
