Saffron Gael – People 1st
Thanks again to People 1st for their ongoing support of the Saffron Gael. Both Bernie and Ronan represented the County with great pride and distinction in camogie and hurling respectively back in the day!
People 1st is a training organisation, providing vocational and bespoke training to organisations in the public and private sectors throughout Northern Ireland. We are a major contract holder for the Department for the Economy, offering a range of occupational training and qualifications.
Our organisation has vast experience in the design, development and accreditation of training, qualifications and quality marks, providing accreditation to over 57,000 learners. People 1st hold centre accreditation with all major recognised awarding bodies including CCEA, OCR, City and Guilds, NOCN, ICQ and EDI Pearson.
Our commitment to excellence has been reflected in the recent awards received and quality grades and tenders won, including:

We have centres in Belfast West and South and company headquarters on the Malone Rd also in Belfast, Lisburn, Lurgan, Portadown and Newry as well as offices in Letterkenny, Dungloe and Buncrana, employing well over 100 people across the ten locations.

People 1st have a long history of supporting the GAA in Antrim down through the years, not only as sponsors of St. Johns and All Saints but have supported various fund raising initiatives for the county, such as the Annual County Hurlers Golf Outing. They are current members of The Saffron Business Forum, and have strong links to the current county administration with Collie Donnelly the County Chairman a cousin of Ronan’s, Paul McCann (Treasurer) from Maneely McCann People 1st’s accountants. Aidan Kelly, who sits on the CCC is a member of the senior management team at People 1st and has been a long serving member of staff as well as a renown and well respected referee for St. John’s for numerous years.
People 1st have quite a few members of staff playing Gaelic games not only in Antrim but further afield such as Don Burns current St. Pauls Senior Football Captain, Padraig Nugent from St. Johns, Cahir Clancy from An Port Mór Co. Armagh, Rosemary McNeilly St. Comgalls Antrim and Sinead McLaughlin Moneyglass who was also a selector with the County Ladies Gaelic Football Team recently.
